Celebrity Quotes
Quite a few celebs have donated furniture for our inaugural Big Womble here in London, and have even said some lovely things about our efforts:

Donated: Armchair - Joanna Lumley
O squashy chair that I have loved so true
Support your your owners new with tender care.
Tell them the secrets that I once told you;
Show them the message, writ in writing fair
In letters clear enough for all to see:
“Cheers sweeties”, with much love from me.
Donated: Pedal bin and towel rail - Alastair McGowan
I don’t normally like giving to auctions because I worry that my item won’t go for very much and embarrass me, but with a raffle there isn’t that danger. I wanted to donate to the Big Womble because I think it’s a great cause and I like to support work that helps the environment. I reckon my pedal bin could be put to good use as a recycling bin.
Donated: Footstool (plus signed photo) - Barbara Windsor
I hope it goes to somebody deserving and who needs it, and that they get as much pleasure from it as I did. I had many a lovely evening putting my feet up on the stool and I hope the next person does too.
Donated: Creature comforts toys, Trixie and Captain Cuddlepuss - Aardman Animations
We are donating two of our favourite characters from the Creature Comforts series, Captain Cuddlepuss and Trixie. They’ve worked very hard for us on set and it will be fascinating to know what use they are put to by their new owners. We are sure they will be quite happy!
Donated: Downing Street mug - The Prime Ministers Office
I am very pleased to donate a mug that has been used by various staff at no.10 for our Tuesday cabinet meetings.
Donated: Le Corbusier Chair - Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh
We heard about Starter Packs through our girls’ school and thought it was a great charity. We had two of these chairs and we always felt one would be enough. We actually donate a lot already, I recently unloaded a whole car load at the Starter Pack project with bikes, clothes and other household items.
Donated: Signed & worn T-shirt - Deborah Harry
I’ve donated to the Big Womble because people who’ve been homeless need a helping hand and many of these organisations help with that. I wore the t-shirt at an Aids benefit gig in January this year in New York, which is why it says ‘Blondie says wear condoms’. My good friend had come over to watch the gig and he brought it back with him so I could donate something to the cause.
Donated: T shirt worn by David Platt in Coronation St – Coronation St production office
We have donated a t-shirt worn by Jack Shepherd who plays David Platt, one of our more colourful characters on the show, and in fact Jack has just become a father! We are pleased to be donating to a cause that helps communities and the environment, and hope that it will raise more awareness of reuse.

Donated: Sofa - Pat Cash
I needed a new sofa so I gave mine to my local furniture reuse organisation, Furnish, to use in the raffle. It doesn’t make sense to throw furniture away if there are people who need it and who can’t afford it themselves. I hope the Big Womble will inspire more people to donate to their local charity. I like that it’s also good for the environment!
